ANNOUNCEMENTS
- (16 Apr) I noticed that the lab syllabus was not linked
on the web site. It has the guidelines for your final presentations.
- (26 Mar) There were some broken links in the Lecture Schedule.
I fixed those so you can download the pdf's.
- (26 Mar) I posted the information about the 2nd Exam.
Please start early on the 5th Homework problem (greenhouse
effect). Let me know if you have any problems with the excel template or setting up your
spreadsheet. Basically, you just type in the equations as they read, substituting either
a relative reference (to something that changes when you change planets) or an absolute
reference (to the constants). Then once you get the Earth right, you can copy your
formulae for Mars and Venus.
- (18 Mar) I have posted the latest homework assignment and set a
date for the first "critical review" paper.
- (24 Feb) During class this coming Thursday (27 Feb), Kat Low will take you
over to the Central Energy Facility on campus. Jay Wurscher will give you a wonderful
tour and answer any questions you have. Some of the EVSS 650 students might be
joining the tour. Please be nice to them.
- (14 Feb) We formed 2 teams today: Wind - Sarah, Jason, Robert, Shea;
Photovoltaic - Luther, Ben, Jonathan, Danie. For now, your assignment is
a little open ended. But first let's get them characterized and operating
and then we will figure out what improvements should be made.
- (31 Jan) One of the students in the other energy class
shared this link
with us. It has some interesting photos of the air in China. A few
of the photos allow you to click to see with and without haze/pollution.
- to the PHYS 350,
Spring 2013 web site!! If you got this far, you probably
already know about the home page, the link to
the syllabus, and the
lecture schedule,
which contains links to summaries of each lecture. Check this page out
regularly to see what, if anything has been added to the site.
